Major domestic securities-related institutions, including the Korea Exchange, have stepped up to support the recovery efforts for the wildfire damage in regions such as Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk.
The Korea Exchange, Korea Securities Depository, Korea Securities Finance Corporation, Koscom, and Korea Financial Investment Association announced on the 26th that they have urgently provided 500 million KRW in donations to aid the victims and recovery efforts in the areas severely affected by the wildfires in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk.
The donations will be used for emergency disaster relief activities such as supporting the victims and recovery efforts in the wildfire-affected areas, including Sancheong in Gyeongnam and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, which have been declared special disaster zones, through the National Disaster Relief Association.
In a joint statement, these securities-related institutions expressed, "We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the residents suffering from the wildfires in the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk areas, and we hope this donation can provide some help. The securities-related institutions will continue to monitor the disaster situation and carry on support activities to assist the affected residents."
