The parking facility, which is a complex facility combining parking and rest areas, began construction in 2021 and was completed in November last year. It features a total of 165 parking spaces, including 162 standard and 3 for people with disabilities, across one basement floor and two above-ground floors. The building also includes a public lounge, nursing room, restrooms, and other convenience facilities.

The parking lot is currently in a trial operation phase and is directly managed by Mujugun Office, offering free use until the 30th of next month. Starting May 1, parking will be free for up to two hours to promote market revitalization and customer convenience, after which a fee of 100 KRW will be charged per 30 minutes.

Payment will be made through an unmanned payment machine (card only), and a call center (by pressing the call button on the unmanned payment machine) will be operated to assist users. At night, the parking lot will be open free of charge to residents living nearby.

Governor Hwang Inhong stated, "With the establishment of the parking lot, I hope the Firefly Market will be revitalized and, furthermore, that Muju tourism linked to the market will also flourish. Since the parking lot will serve as a public parking space for nearby residents at night, I expect it will also positively impact residential convenience."

At the opening ceremony, more than 100 residents attended, including Governor Hwang Inhong, Chairman Oh Gwangseok of the Mujugun Council, Park Yongsik, president of the Firefly Market Merchants Association, and other market officials.

Meanwhile, at the event, Park Yongsik, president of the Mujubanditbul Market Merchants Association, was awarded a plaque of appreciation from the governor for his contribution to the revitalization of the traditional market and the construction of the parking lot. Shin Yeonsang, CEO of Kangin Co., Ltd., was also recognized for successfully completing the Mujubanditbul Market parking lot project.

Choi Nakhun, a 7th-grade facility officer in the Water and Sewage Department of Mujugun Office, received a commendation from the governor for leading the development of Muju through his work on the market parking lot construction project as the person in charge of regional development.

Market merchants said, "We hope that the Firefly Market, which is regaining its vibrancy through modernization and revitalization of the commercial district, will become a place bustling with people thanks to the new parking complex. We look forward to the day it becomes a market famous across the country."
