Choi Ji-young, Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, who owns assets worth 41 billion KRW, ranked 4th in the high-ranking public officials' asset rankings. A significant portion of Deputy Minister Choi's assets consisted of unlisted stocks held by her spouse.
According to the '2025 Regular Asset Change Report for Public Officials' disclosed by the Government Officials Ethics Committee on the 27th, Deputy Minister Choi reported total assets of 41.09 billion KRW, ranking 4th among 2,047 high-ranking public officials subject to reporting.
This amount decreased by 8.36 billion KRW compared to the previous year's report. The decline was influenced by the value of unlisted stocks, which are the main component of Deputy Minister Choi's assets, dropping to 36.34 billion KRW, a decrease of 8.19 billion KRW over one year.
Deputy Minister Choi's spouse holds 23,748 shares of unlisted stock in Jeil Punggyeongchae and 200,000 shares in Punggyeongchae, respectively.
Deputy Minister Choi reported ownership of buildings worth a total of approximately 4.05 billion KRW, including an apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, under her spouse's name. Additionally, the spouse owns land such as rice paddies and forest land in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, valued at about 100 million KRW.
Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, reported assets worth 4.46 billion KRW. Deputy Prime Minister Choi owns real estate valued at approximately 2.12 billion KRW, including an apartment in Dongja-dong, Yongsan-gu, under his spouse's name.
Deputy Prime Minister Choi reported total deposits amounting to 1.81 billion KRW, of which 490 million KRW were in his own name. It was also confirmed that he holds government bonds and listed stocks worth a total of 440 million KRW under his own, spouse's, and eldest son's names (67.54 million KRW in listed stocks).
Kim Beom-seok, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, and Kim Yoon-sang, Second Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, reported assets of 3.48 billion KRW and 4.16 billion KRW, respectively. Their assets increased by 645 million KRW and 514 million KRW compared to the previous year. Kang Young-gyu, spokesperson, reported assets of 5.05 billion KRW, an increase of 32.56 million KRW compared to one year ago.
