RaonSecure has embarked on securing competitiveness in the field of 'Digital Product Passport (DPP),' which digitally stores and shares the entire lifecycle information of products, including production, distribution, and disposal, based on its blockchain-based digital ID technology.
IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (CEO Soonhyung Lee, Jeonga Lee) announced on the 26th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for business cooperation in the Digital Product Passport (DPP) project with NFC fabless company Three A Logics (CEO Pyunhan Lee, Kwangbeom Park) at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
Through this agreement, both companies will cooperate to secure competitiveness in the rapidly growing DPP sector, which is expected to expand significantly due to social and institutional changes such as the European Union (EU)'s introduction of the 'Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)' and the strengthening of ESG management and resource circulation in Korea, and to create mutual business synergies.
RaonSecure and Three A Logics plan to collaborate on ▲ joint research and development of DPP technology ▲ development of integrated solutions linking NFC/RFID tags with blockchain-based digital ID systems ▲ joint response to domestic and international DPP markets and promotion of cooperative projects.
DPP is a digital ID containing digital data of a product’s production, sales, usage, and disposal in QR codes, barcodes, or NFC, allowing consumers to verify information such as raw materials, components, origin, recyclability, ease of repair, carbon footprint, and recycled material content through the DPP. It is scheduled to become mandatory for all products and services entering the EU market starting in 2027.
RaonSecure plans to further accelerate the expansion of its blockchain-based digital ID business through entry into the DPP sector. The company is expanding its business to include mobile IDs, which are increasingly spreading in both public and private sectors, as well as various mobile certificates such as medical certificates and diagnostic reports. Through this agreement, it intends to broaden its business area to the DPP field based on blockchain-based digital ID technology.
Three A Logics is a leading company in Korea’s NFC industry, having obtained AEC-Q100 certification and NFC Forum Digital Key certification in the automotive NFC reader chip sector, supplying major automakers. Additionally, it supplies electronic price tags and NFC chips for genuine product authentication to global set manufacturers.
Soonhyung Lee, CEO of RaonSecure, said, “Through joint cooperation on DPP integrated solutions with Three A Logics, we plan to secure a leading position in the digital product passport market by utilizing blockchain-based digital ID technology.” He added, “As DPP is expected to spread globally starting from Europe to North America and Asia, we will expand into global business through overseas partnerships and participation in global projects.”
