Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) is conducting a total of four sessions of ‘ChatGPT Work Utilization Training’ to strengthen smart administrative capabilities using artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on enhancing the digital competencies of public officials.

According to Goyang Special City on the 25th, the city sequentially conducted training at three district offices?Deogyang-gu Office, Ilsandong-gu Office, and Ilsanseo-gu Office?from January to February this year, and held an additional training session at the Goyang City Arts Center on the 21st, providing an opportunity to further strengthen the digital capabilities of public officials.

This training was promoted with the purpose of actively introducing artificial intelligence (AI) technology into administrative work to improve work efficiency and realize citizen-centered smart administration, with over 550 public officials attending the four sessions in total.

The training lasted about two hours and covered ▲ AI trends and an overview of ChatGPT ▲ introduction of key functions applicable to actual administration ▲ practical exercises on writing prompts. In particular, practical exercises focused on report writing, document summarization, and meeting minutes organization using prompt engineering techniques received great positive feedback.

A public official who attended the training said, “It was most beneficial to learn methods that can be immediately applied to my actual work beyond simple theoretical education,” and added, “I realized that AI can serve as an assistant to support administration.”

Earlier, to lead the realization of smart administration using AI and digital innovation, the city established the ‘AI Innovation Task Force (TF) Team’ on March 4. The establishment of this task force was a strategic decision by Goyang City to integrate rapidly developing AI technology throughout administration to improve work efficiency and realize citizen-centered customized administration.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City stated, “The AI Innovation Task Force Team is a core organization for Goyang City to take a step ahead in the era of digital transformation,” and added, “We will lead tangible changes that citizens can experience based on AI technology and propel Goyang City to become a leading city in smart administration.”

Going forward, the city plans to continuously expand AI-related education and promote administrative innovation using AI technology, making various efforts to provide fast and efficient public services based on digital infrastructure.
