Senior Spokesperson Shin Dong-wook said in a statement that "it is very concerning as it instills a distorted view of history in the future generation."

Senior Spokesperson Shin emphasized, "Dokdo is clearly the territory of the Republic of Korea from historical, geographical, and international law perspectives," and added, "No matter how much Japan distorts or tries to hide it, the fact that Dokdo is Korean territory does not change."

Senior Spokesperson Shin said, "Repeated historical distortions pour cold water on the government's efforts to improve Korea-Japan relations and obstruct cooperation between the two countries," and added, "Only with a correct understanding of history and reflection on past issues can the two countries move forward together into the future."
