Honam University Department of Esports Industry Holds Major Volunteer Program 'Finding Career Dreams' for Middle School Students

The Department of Esports Industry at Honam University (headed by Jung Yeoncheol) announced on the 25th that it recently conducted a field trip (FT) focused on major-specific volunteer activities at Boknae Middle School in Boseong.

The FT, held for first-year students at Boknae Middle School, featured the "Finding Career Dreams" program. Under the theme "How Much Do You Know About Esports?", students participated in quizzes about esports-related professions and experienced tournament management.

During the first session, careers related to esports were introduced. Lee Junhyeok, a third-year student who is actively working as an esports commentator in connection with KeSAP (Korea Esports Association), shared how he has prepared for and is currently working as a commentator.

In the second session, Boknae Middle School students and university students participated together in hands-on activities related to esports tournament management.

Since 2023, the Department of Esports Industry has been organizing esports career experience events for local youth and has also been actively promoting the value of esports through the "Family Game Culture Camp," which connects generations through esports.
