Last year, 15 clubs applied and 5 clubs were finally selected, but this year, 7 clubs will be selected to provide more opportunities.

Among the 17 clubs that applied, the final 7 clubs will be selected through a blind document screening by education experts. In 2025, additional points will be given if the research includes topics related to the region, such as studies on Dongducheon city development plans and research using local facilities. Also, the selected clubs will consist of a total of 8 members, including 6 students and 2 supervising teachers, with approximately 56 students and teachers participating in total. The selection results will be announced in April.

The Dongducheon Dream Club is a domestic and international training program planned directly by students, supporting up to 56 million KRW per club for club activity expenses to develop career connections and special talents. Through this, students gain various experiences and opportunities to broaden their horizons both domestically and internationally.

Mayor Park Hyeong-deok of Dongducheon said, “The Dongducheon Dream Club is a very important opportunity for students to proactively develop global competencies,” and added, “We will actively support our students so that they can realize their dreams and move forward more vigorously toward the future.”
