HD Hyundai Donates 1 Billion KRW and Relief Supplies to Wildfire-Affected Areas

"Hoping to Help Residents Who Have Lost Their Homes"

HD Hyundai announced on the 25th that it will provide donations and relief supplies worth 1 billion KRW to support residents and aid recovery efforts in major wildfire-affected areas such as Ulju in Ulsan, Sancheong in Gyeongnam, and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk.


The HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation will donate 700 million KRW to organizations including the National Disaster Relief Association. Established by employees who pledged to donate 1% of their salaries, the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation plans to use the funds for emergency wildfire relief, providing daily necessities to disaster victims, and ensuring housing safety.

HD Hyundai affiliates will provide relief supplies worth 300 million KRW. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore, construction machinery affiliates of HD Hyundai, will support the restoration of wildfire-affected areas by supplying excavators and manpower. Both companies also deployed 20 excavators urgently during the large wildfires on the East Coast in 2022.


On the 25th, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries provided 1,500 packed meals to public officials engaged in wildfire suppression efforts in the Ulsan area and pledged to continue necessary support going forward.


Kwon Oh-gap, Chairman of the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation, stated, “We hope this small help can support residents who have lost their homes due to the sudden wildfires,” adding, “We will do our best to support recovery activities so that affected residents can return to peaceful and normal lives as soon as possible.”


Meanwhile, HD Hyundai has consistently carried out relief activities by providing donations and equipment to disaster-affected areas, including the heavy rains in Chungcheong and Gyeongbuk regions in 2023, the East Coast wildfires in 2022, and the heavy rains in Hapcheon, Gyeongnam and Gurye, Jeonnam in 2020.
