Wanju County Promotes 'Rural Vacant House Maintenance Project' to Improve Residential Environment

Support for Demolition of 100 Houses
Applications Accepted Until July 4

Wanju County in North Jeolla Province is promoting the '2025 Rural Vacant House Renovation Project' to prevent safety accidents caused by building collapse and to improve residential environments by renovating vacant houses.

According to the county on the 25th, the 'Rural Vacant House Renovation Project' is a program that provides partial demolition costs to owners who voluntarily demolish vacant houses left unattended in rural areas. The eligible properties are houses and buildings in rural areas that have not been inhabited or used for more than one year.

This year, the county plans to support the demolition of about 100 houses. The subsidy amount has increased compared to last year, with up to 4 million KRW provided for slate buildings and up to 3 million KRW for general buildings.

Owners of vacant houses who wish to apply must visit the relevant Eup or Myeon Administrative Welfare Center with documents verifying ownership of the vacant house (such as a building register or certified copy of the registry) by July 4.
