31 Helicopters, 1,959 Personnel, and 216 Firefighting Vehicles Mobilized for Wildfire Containment

The Central Disaster Response Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service announced that, in order to extinguish the wildfire that broke out in areas including San 39, Sincheon-ri, Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun, they have mobilized all available resources for firefighting, including 31 helicopters, 1,959 personnel, and 216 firefighting vehicles. The Korea Forest Service is leading a close cooperation system with relevant agencies to fight the wildfire.
The affected area is estimated at 1,572 hectares, with a total fire line of 55 km. Of this, 5.5 km are currently being extinguished (2 km in Sancheong, 3.5 km in Hadong), and 49.5 km have been brought under control (37 km in Sancheong, 12.5 km in Hadong).
Due to the wildfire, 1,222 residents near the villages have completed evacuation to areas such as Donguibogamchon. There have been 12 casualties (4 deaths, 8 injuries) and property damage to 60 buildings, including houses.
The Central Disaster Response Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service stated, "We will do our utmost to prevent further spread of the wildfire by mobilizing all available aerial and ground firefighting resources, focusing on extinguishing the main fire, and striving to prevent any further loss of life or property."
