Support for 100 Households with Solar Power and 5 Households with Solar Thermal Systems
Buan County in North Jeolla Province will begin full-scale implementation of the 2025 Renewable Energy Supply (Residential Support) Project starting from July 21.
According to the county on the 25th, the renewable energy residential support project is being carried out in connection with the government's renewable energy supply policy. It allows residents who wish to install renewable energy systems (solar power, solar thermal) in their homes to receive county funding in addition to government subsidies.
Accordingly, for the most commonly requested 3kW solar power system, applicants will only need to pay about 1.84 million won out of the total project cost of approximately 4.93 million won, as 3.09 million won (1.79 million from the central government, 300,000 from the province, and 1 million from the county) will be provided as subsidies.
Detailed information can be found in the announcement titled '2025 Renewable Energy Residential Support Project County Subsidy Support Plan' on the county office website. Support will be provided to about 105 households (100 for solar power, 5 for solar thermal) selected for the 2025 Renewable Energy Residential Support Project by the Korea Energy Agency.
A county official stated, "By increasing the county subsidy for the renewable energy supply project by 240,000 won compared to last year, we will reduce the financial burden on residents and, through annual implementation, work to reduce energy welfare blind spots."
