At the meeting, about 10 senior officials including Park Jeongrak, Director of Urban Construction, attended and explained the necessity of more than 20 key projects such as the creation of a Regional Vitality Town, the establishment of a national aquatic ecological garden at Yeongju Lake, and the construction of a comprehensive funeral facility. They requested active support from National Assembly member Lim Jongdeuk for the inclusion of these projects in the budget.
In particular, the city proposed the inclusion of the National Road Alternative Bypass (Jeokdong?Sangmang) construction project in the 7th National Road and Local Road Five-Year Plan to ease traffic congestion and revitalize the national industrial complex. They also requested the early implementation of the Central Region East-West Cross-country Railroad construction project by including it in the 5th National Rail Network Construction Plan and exempting it from the preliminary feasibility study.
Through this visit, the city plans to continue its efforts so that major projects for regional development can be reflected in next year's government budget proposal. In particular, during the National Assembly's budget review process, the city will closely cooperate with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and related ministries to secure national funding.
Park Jeongrak, Director of Urban Construction, stated, "We will do our best to build consensus on projects requiring national funding and to secure financial support for regional development."
