Malicious message blocking functionality will be applied to Samsung Electronics' Galaxy smartphones. On the 25th, the Korea Communications Commission announced that it has developed an 'AI-based malicious message blocking function' in collaboration with the Korea Internet & Security Agency and Samsung Electronics.

This development was carried out as part of the government's comprehensive measures to prevent illegal spam, aiming to prevent various damages caused by malicious messages such as illegal loans, adult content, and gambling.

The AI-based technology autonomously blocks messages suspected of being malicious on the smartphone itself, automatically classifying and blocking illegal spam messages containing sender numbers identified as malicious spam numbers and dangerous links (URLs).

Samsung Electronics will first apply this feature to the latest Galaxy S25 series and plans to sequentially apply it to existing models through an Android 15 operating system (One UI 7) update.

Since September last year, the Korea Communications Commission, Korea Internet & Security Agency, and Samsung Electronics have been developing this feature. Users can selectively unblock or check messages among those automatically blocked, including ▲blocked malicious messages ▲messages blocked by AI ▲and messages blocked by the user.
