"Receive a Living Scholarship When You Move to Ulsan City"

For Undergraduate and Graduate Students Who Moved After January 1, 2024
Apply at Your University Office Starting April 1

Ulsan City will actively promote the "2025 Local University Competitiveness Enhancement Specialized Project" to attract young people to the region and strengthen the competitiveness of local universities.

This project provides living scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students who move from other regions to universities in Ulsan, helping them settle in the area stably.

Last month, through a public contest, the city selected five universities as project partners: University of Ulsan, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, Ulsan College, Chunhae Health College, and Korea Polytechnic University Ulsan Campus, and will proceed with the project.

The living scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students who have transferred their address to Ulsan City after January 1 of last year, on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.

Each recipient can receive up to 900,000 won. An initial 200,000 won will be provided upon first moving in, and an additional 100,000 won will be given for every six months the address is maintained in Ulsan, for up to eight semesters.

Applications can be submitted from April 1 through the university's application office. Applicants must submit an application form (available at each university office), a copy of their resident registration (including address history for the past five years), and a copy of their bank account.

Additionally, the six-month retention support for students who received the initial payment will be provided in November after verifying enrollment and address maintenance for six months, without a separate application process.

More details can be found on the Ulsan City website under the promotions section (by category - administration - talent education - education support, Local University Competitiveness Enhancement Specialized Project).

An Ulsan City official stated, "As we face difficulties due to the declining school-age population and the concentration of university admissions in the Seoul metropolitan area, we will do our best to strengthen the competitiveness of local universities and promote regional development by attracting more young people through this project."
