“We Will Spare No Effort
to Attract Investment”
Hamyang County, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 25th that it has signed a bilateral investment agreement with Agrigento Co., Ltd., a chemical product (plant protection agent) manufacturing company.
According to this agreement, Agrigento Co., Ltd. will invest approximately 15 billion KRW in a 13,285㎡ site in the 2nd Agricultural and Industrial Complex in Anui, Hamyang County, and is expected to create about 60 jobs, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
Hamyang County has pledged to do its utmost to provide administrative and financial support, such as permits and approvals in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, to ensure smooth progress of the investment.
Agrigento is a chemical product (plant protection agent) manufacturing company, established in 2010, and is a sound mid-sized enterprise with steady growth and annual sales exceeding 20 billion KRW.
While planning to expand its facilities to meet the recent increase in orders, Agrigento decided to move into the 2nd Agricultural and Industrial Complex in Anui, thanks to Hamyang County's active efforts to attract the company.
Going forward, Agrigento plans to modernize its production facilities and increase output based on eco-friendly manufacturing processes, and the employment of local talent is expected to create a virtuous cycle in the local economy.
At the signing of this investment agreement, County Governor Jin Byungyoung stated, "We are pleased that Agrigento Co., Ltd. has decided to join our county, and we will spare no effort to ensure the investment plan proceeds smoothly."
Jin Namsu, CEO of Agrigento, said, "By investing in Hamyang County, the central hub of southern inland transportation, we are able to supply our products more closely nationwide, which is a great stepping stone for Agrigento's growth," adding, "We will also make every effort to give back to the Hamyang community in the future."
An official from Hamyang County stated, "Although there are concerns about a contraction in investment due to the economic downturn, we will do everything we can to escape the crisis of regional extinction by promoting job creation, revitalizing the local economy, and attracting productive population through active investment attraction activities."
