Promoting Stay-Type Tourism

The nation's top marine tourism city and Korea's aerospace capital, Sacheon in Gyeongnam, will host a major accommodation event.

The city of Sacheon announced on the 25th that, in celebration of the 2025 Year of Visiting Sacheon and to promote stay-type tourism, it will hold the "Come Again to Sacheon! Sacheon Accommodation Festival" in collaboration with Korea's largest OTAs (Online Travel Agencies), Yanolja Platform and Yeogiotte.

OTA (Online Travel Agency) refers to a travel intermediary platform that allows users to book and purchase travel products online.

The "Come Again to Sacheon! Sacheon Accommodation Festival" is an event where customers using one of the 136 accommodation businesses in Sacheon listed on Yanolja Platform and Yeogiotte will receive discount coupons worth 20,000 to 30,000 KRW.

This event runs from the 24th until the end of May. When spending 70,000 KRW or more, a 30,000 KRW discount coupon is issued; for payments under 70,000 KRW, a 20,000 KRW coupon is provided.

Consumers can receive and use the coupons directly through each OTA app, and the coupons are valid for two weeks from March 24 to April 6. Unused coupons during this period will be collected and redistributed during the event period.

However, accommodation facilities in Sacheon not registered on Yanolja Platform or Yeogiotte, as well as day-use rooms, are not eligible for the discount benefits.

The city plans to use the "Come Again to Sacheon! Sacheon Accommodation Festival" to promote Sacheon's major tourist attractions, such as the Sacheon Sea Cable Car and Aramaru Aquarium, both selected among Korea's Top 100 Tourist Attractions.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "As this accommodation event provides tangible benefits to tourists visiting Sacheon, we expect it will contribute to the revitalization of stay-type tourism. We will continue to thoroughly prepare a variety of festivals, events, and promotions to ensure a successful Year of Visiting Sacheon."
