The Gwangju Human Resources Lifelong Education Promotion Agency (President Lee Chunmun, hereinafter referred to as the Agency) announced on the 24th that it is inviting applications for the "2025 Gwangju-Style Lifelong Education Stakeholder Research" project from local organizations (groups) and individuals (teams).
The Gwangju-Style Lifelong Education Stakeholder Research is a citizen-participatory research project in which lifelong education stakeholders residing in Gwangju independently explore and identify specific, field-oriented issues related to their (or their group’s) lives and propose effective policy agendas and alternatives.
Starting with the "Gwangju-Style 50+ Stakeholder Research" in 2020, this project marks its sixth year and is open to organizations and groups in the Gwangju area. Selected organizations and groups will receive research funding to enable citizens to become researchers of their own lives and conduct practical, field-based research.
The research topic is open, based on the theme "Lifelong Learning City Gwangju by Your Side." The announcement posted on the Agency’s website provides detailed examples such as ▲local issues ▲age-friendliness ▲education for sustainable development.
Applications will be accepted from the 14th to the 18th of next month. The selection process includes a first-stage document review and a second-stage interview in April, with the main research phase running for six months starting in May. Approximately three research projects will be selected, with funding of around 5 million KRW per project.
The project briefing session will be held online at 2 p.m. on the 26th, providing an overview of the project and a Q&A session. Details on how to pre-register for the briefing session can be found in the notices on the Agency’s website.
Lee Chunmun, President of the Gwangju Human Resources Lifelong Education Promotion Agency, stated, "The Gwangju-Style Lifelong Education Stakeholder Research addresses issues that citizens truly need and want to solve," adding, "It will serve as an important opportunity to expand lifelong education opportunities."
