NewJeans files objection to court's provisional injunction banning independent activities

The opposing party in an injunction case
must file an objection before appealing to the second trial

Girl group NewJeans, who are in a dispute over an exclusive contract with ADOR, has filed an objection to the court's injunction prohibiting independent activities. Earlier, the court accepted ADOR's injunction application and issued an approval decision.

According to the legal community on the 24th, the five members of NewJeans submitted an objection to the injunction on the 21st, the day the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 50 (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) issued the injunction approval decision.

If an objection is filed against the court's injunction approval decision, the court will re-examine the case.

The court previously accepted ADOR's injunction application against NewJeans, seeking to "preserve the status of the agency and prohibit the conclusion of advertising contracts," and issued a full approval decision.

The party who applied for the injunction can immediately appeal to the second trial if the injunction is dismissed. However, the opposing party can only appeal if they file an objection and it is not accepted.

With ADOR's injunction being accepted, NewJeans will proceed with an appeal if their objection is not accepted.

Last November, the NewJeans members claimed that their contract was terminated due to ADOR's breach of the exclusive contract, changed their team name to NJZ, and began independent activities. However, with the court accepting ADOR's injunction, independent activities have become impossible.
