Na Dongyeon Holds Video Conference with 13 Town and District Heads on the 24th to Review Response System
On-site Briefing at Daewoonsan in Yangsan, Visit to Wildfire Field Command Center in Ulju-gun
As the wildfire that broke out on the slopes of Daewoonsan in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, is moving toward the Daewoonsan area of Yangsan City carried by the wind, Yangsan City has stepped up real-time monitoring and surveillance activities.
On the morning of the 24th at 10 a.m., Yangsan Mayor Na Dongyeon held an emergency video conference with the heads of 13 towns and districts in the situation room, checking the response system for wildfire prevention across the 13 administrative areas.
Mayor Na stated, "Since wildfires are occurring nationwide, a prompt response system at the town and district level is required in case of emergencies," and requested, "Please strengthen wildfire surveillance activities to prevent the burning of agricultural byproducts and illegal waste incineration in particular."
At 11:30 a.m., an on-site briefing was held at the Daewoonsan Natural Recreation Forest area (Soopaeseo), which borders the wildfire site in Daewoonsan, Ulju-gun, Ulsan.
The on-site briefing was attended by Mayor Na Dongyeon, Yangsan City officials, local village heads, residents, and members of the press, as they monitored the damage situation, containment rate, and spread trends.
After the on-site briefing, they visited the field command center in Onyang-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan. At the command center, Mayor Na met with Ulsan Mayor Kim Dookyum and Ulju-gun Governor Lee Soongeol to share updates on the wildfire situation overnight and discuss future response measures.

Mayor Na Dongyeon said, "Since the wildfire in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, is close to our city, there are concerns about significant damage if the fire spreads to the natural recreation forest, healing experience center, and other accommodation facilities in Daewoonsan, Yangsan." He continued, "We are closely monitoring the spread and maintaining a thorough response system," and added, "With dry weather conditions, large and small wildfires are breaking out simultaneously across the country, so the national crisis alert level has been raised to a severe state. To prevent wildfires, we have implemented a responsible officer system at the town and district level, with all staff conducting daily surveillance activities to ensure thorough preparedness."
