Famisell announced on the 24th that it has decided to expand its Ulsan Plant 3 in Onsan Industrial Complex, Ulsan, covering approximately 5,000 pyeong, to respond to the growing demand for low-dielectric electronic materials due to the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence (AI) related industry and to secure stable supply capabilities.
Plant 3 will have a site area of 16,508㎡, about 1.75 times larger than the total area of the existing plants. It plans to maximize production efficiency through a continuous production process equipped with automated facilities, with a total investment of 30 billion KRW. Most of the expansion costs will be funded by internal capital.
A Famisell official stated, "Since the second half of last year, we have made proactive investments in response to the increase in orders for low-dielectric electronic materials used in high-value equipment such as AI accelerators, 5G network devices, and base station antennas, aiming to strengthen technological innovation and market competitiveness to establish a foundation for sustainable growth."
Previously, Famisell's Chemical Business Division built Ulsan Plant 1 in 2018, followed by Ulsan Plant 2 in 2022. Sales increased to 54.5 billion KRW in 2023 and 62.8 billion KRW in 2024. Low-dielectric electronic materials recorded sales of 29.7 billion KRW in 2024, growing 227% year-on-year and leading the biochemical division's sales.
