Changwon Special City Conducts Professional Competency Training for Facility Service Public Officials.
The first day of training will be a customized program to enhance understanding of specialized duties such as road construction management and the responsibilities of supervisors at each construction stage. This will be entrusted to the Construction Technology Education Institute, a specialized training institution. On the second day, the training will focus on case-based education that can be directly applied to practical work, such as preparing design documents and procedures for river damage restoration.
Additionally, a learning assessment will be conducted after the training to increase its effectiveness and will be used as personnel data. The professional competency training has been conducted for technical civil servants since 2024, and it has been reported that participants have shown high satisfaction due to its focus on real-world cases.
Hong Sunyoung, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, stated, "Professional competency training is conducted by job series to enhance job expertise and on-site problem-solving skills, and we plan to gradually expand it. Through field- and case-based training, we expect that employees will be able to develop practical skills that can be directly applied in the field."
Meanwhile, Changwon City plans to continue promoting job-specific training to strengthen professional expertise. In April, the city will provide professional competency training for technical civil servants on practical management of public facility projects that construction supervisors need to know.
