L&K Biomed, MOU with Japanese Dr. Noguchi

Spinal implant company L&K Biomed announced on the 24th that Dr. Masahiko Noguchi, an authority on pectus excavatum surgery at Nagano Prefectural Children's Specialized Hospital in Japan, visited its headquarters for two days starting from the 20th.

Dr. Noguchi held detailed discussions on signing a product supply contract with L&K Biomed and S Company, a medical device distributor holding the highest market share for pectus excavatum implants in Japan. Subsequently, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was also signed for the Japanese launch of the pectus excavatum implant "Pactus."

According to the company, L&K Biomed first unveiled Pactus at a solo booth at the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) held last year in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. Dr. Noguchi, who attended CWIG, showed great interest in the innovation and technology of Pactus. Following the conference, L&K Biomed visited Tokyo, Japan, in December last year to discuss support and cooperation plans for Pactus's entry into the Japanese market with Dr. Noguchi.

L&K Biomed invited Dr. Noguchi to concretize plans for entering the Japanese market. He personally verified the research and development, production process, accurate usage methods, and superior quality of Pactus, showing high interest in the unique features of the Pactus product.

Dr. Noguchi served as the head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Nagano Prefectural Children's Specialized Hospital and concurrently holds the position of president of CWIG Japan. CWIG will be held in Japan for the first time this September, with Dr. Noguchi playing a leading role. CWIG is a major international conference where thoracic surgeons and pediatric surgeons from around the world participate annually to share research on treatment and surgical methods for congenital chest wall deformities such as pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum. L&K Biomed will sponsor the 2025 CWIG and introduce the new product "Pactus" to approximately 100 medical professionals attending the conference.

Pactus is a minimally invasive surgical product that improves upon the commonly used Nuss procedure for correcting pectus excavatum. Recognized globally for its technology in the spinal implant field, L&K Biomed is expanding its business into the thoracic implant sector, including pectus excavatum, securing new growth engines.

To promote Pactus worldwide, L&K Biomed is preparing an academic seminar called "Pactus G7," which will systematically provide information from theory to surgical techniques to authorities in thoracic implant surgery from seven countries including Korea, the United States, China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and India. Dr. Noguchi, representing Japan, is scheduled to participate in "Pactus G7" and will launch an academic seminar hosted by the company next year.

An L&K Biomed official stated, "Through our entry into Japan, we plan to continuously secure diversification of overseas markets and growth engines for overseas business to strengthen sales."
