Danal and Bit Corporation Sign MOU with SDT to Advance Quantum Security Payment Unmanned System

On the 24th, Danal and its affiliate Bit Corporation (hereinafter Bit) announced that they have signed a joint MOU with SDT, a quantum standard technology specialist company, to implement a quantum security payment system and advance robot coffee technology.

This MOU aims to create synergy by combining SDT's quantum technology with Danal Group's services. Danal plans to gain a technological edge by applying SDT's cutting-edge security technologies, such as post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD), which are immune to hacking or replication, to its payment services.

Bit's AI robot coffee 'Bit (b;eat)' is expected to further enhance the completeness of its unmanned system through this agreement. An issue detection system utilizing SDT technology will be installed inside the booth to quickly and precisely monitor cleanliness, beverage extraction levels, and various anomalies. Through collaboration with equipment applying quantum computer technology, complex process beverages that were previously difficult to offer in unmanned cafes are expected to be newly launched.

Additionally, the precision and patterns of 'Human-Robot Interaction (HRI),' a differentiated feature unique to Bit (b;eat), are expected to improve. Bit and SDT applied human-touch technology, where the robot arm makes gestures or various facial expressions to people, to Bit (b;eat) in 2020, which has been shown to increase user interest and influence sales volume and store market share expansion.

A Danal official stated, "As the importance of security grows with technological advancement, we will proactively apply quantum security technology to complete a payment service that can be used with confidence," adding, "With this agreement, our affiliate Bit will be able to advance its unmanned system, which will help accelerate the currently pursued technology special listing."

Meanwhile, SDT is the only domestic quantum computer manufacturing company possessing technology know-how and intellectual property (IP) related to quantum control devices commercialization, superconductors, neutral atoms, ion traps, and more. It is accelerating its listing preparations, having successfully attracted 20 billion KRW in equity investment last December. Recently, it established a joint venture (JV) with Anion, a partner of NVIDIA, and is preparing to produce a 20-qubit system linked with NVIDIA's superchip.
