On the 24th, Icheon City signed a business agreement with NongHyup Bank Icheon Branch and local agricultural and livestock cooperatives to promote the 'Icheon City Senior Citizens Public Transportation Fare Support Project.' The signing institutions agreed to establish an organic cooperative system for the successful promotion of the senior citizens' public transportation fare support project and to actively cooperate in carrying out the work.

The senior citizens' public transportation fare support project provides support for city bus fares to about 20,000 senior citizens aged 70 or older residing in the area. Seniors can receive a card issued at local NongHyup branches and use it, and support is provided by reimbursing up to 40,000 KRW quarterly after use.

The city plans to implement the project starting July 1. Previously, the city enacted related ordinances in July last year to establish the legal basis.

Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, said, "Starting with this agreement, we will actively prepare for the senior citizens' public transportation fare support project," adding, "We hope that with the successful promotion of the project, senior citizens in the area will enjoy a convenient and happy daily life."
