The city of Gwangju announced on the 24th that, in preparation for the '2025 World Archery (Para) Championships' to be held in September, it will conduct hygiene management inspections of 500 dining establishments around competition venues, practice sites, and athlete accommodations until the 7th of next month.

The city will deploy 22 consumer food hygiene inspectors in 7 teams to carry out on-site preliminary hygiene management of the establishments. The inspections will cover ▲compliance with food storage temperatures ▲sale, use, or storage of food past its expiration date ▲reuse of food ▲health checkups for employees ▲and other compliance with the Food Sanitation Act.

If any shortcomings are found during these preliminary on-site hygiene inspections, guidance and follow-up inspections will be provided to raise business owners' awareness of voluntary food hygiene and safety.

Bae Kangsook, head of the Health and Hygiene Division, stated, "In preparation for the World Archery Championships in September, we will focus on preventing food poisoning and creating a clean dining environment at restaurants and cafes expected to be frequented by citizens and tourists," and added, "We will do our utmost to establish an advanced dining culture where citizens and tourists can feel safe by strengthening employees' capacity for voluntary hygiene management."
