The donation ceremony was attended by Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun, Head Monk Hyehwa, Hwadamjeongsa’s general affairs officer, and the president of the Yangju Sports Association, who reflected on the meaning of sharing and had a meaningful time for the development of the local community.
Head Monk Hyehwa said, "We prepared this donation to deliver warm spring energy to neighbors in need," adding, "We will continue to practice sharing as a temple that works together with the local community."
Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you to Hwadamjeongsa for practicing warm sharing with the local community every year," and added, "The donated rice will be properly delivered to neighbors in need." He also stated, "Our gratitude for the attraction of the international skating rink will be repaid by successfully bringing the international skating rink to Yangju."
Hwadamjeongsa is a traditional temple that has continued its ongoing sharing activities for the local community. Last year, it also donated 1 million KRW and 100 bags of 10kg rice. The donated goods this time will be delivered to vulnerable groups within Yangju through the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, and the funds will be used as a fund for attracting the international skating rink.
