The constituency where Jeong is running is the 12th electoral district of Changwon (Hoesawon 1-dong, Hoesawon 2-dong, Seokjeon-dong, Hoeseong-dong, Hapseong 1-dong), where large-scale projects such as the construction of a Complex Administrative Town, a future-oriented transfer center at Masan Station, the relocation of Changwon Prison, and the development of an urban residential complex linked to the station area are planned and partially underway.
Jeong stated that he decided to run for provincial councilor to drive the development of the region into an innovative city based on its growth potential.
Jeong declared, "Masan's Teheran-ro! With the goal of creating a premium city, I will focus my efforts on enhancing the dignity of the city and turning the Masan Hoewon district into a renowned specialized area for finance, transportation, medical services, offices, and shopping, thereby revitalizing the local commercial district."
In particular, he expressed his stance on future legislative initiatives, including job creation for young people and the promotion of the cultural industry, to secure talent that is currently flowing out from local areas to the capital region.
Among the main points, for youth job creation, he proposed the introduction of customized workforce development programs linking industry, academia, and government, as well as the recruitment of talent pools in competitive industrial sectors within the province. He also announced his intention to propose an ordinance for "the development and expansion of the cultural content industry" to vitalize the cultural industry, with the goal of making Gyeongnam the number one cultural tourism city.
Jeong, who previously served as president of the student council at Gyeongnam University, is known to have consistently prepared to serve the local community, having worked as a secretary to National Assembly member Yoon Hanhong of Masan Hoewon-gu.
