Heungkuk Life Insurance announced on the 24th that it has introduced a service that allows 'designated proxy claimants' to be easily registered via mobile.
A designated proxy claimant is a system that allows family members or others to claim insurance benefits on behalf of the policyholder when the policyholder is unable to directly claim due to dementia or a serious illness. The policyholder can apply for proxy claimant registration through the mobile application and complete the application process on an internet page (URL) separately notified to both the policyholder and the proxy claimant. All procedures are completed within 3 business days, including the date of receipt.
Not only existing customers but also new customers without a subscription history can register as proxy claimants after undergoing a family relationship verification process. Proxy claimants can be designated as the policyholder’s spouse or relatives within the third degree of kinship. Registration, changes, and deletions of proxy claimants can be easily applied for via mobile. Designation of proxy claimants through the existing call center or branch visits is also possible.
Kwon Jeongwan, head of the Contract Management Team at Heungkuk Life Insurance, said, "We have improved the proxy claim system to be more convenient so that policyholders who find it difficult to claim insurance benefits directly can receive their benefits promptly." He added, "We plan to continue expanding digital services that customers can truly experience."
