Co-hosting the "Spring Companion Charming Garden Making Event" with Seoul City
Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 24th that it will co-host the "80th Arbor Day Commemorative Spring Companion Charming Garden Making Event" with Seoul City at Boramae Park on the 28th. This festival is themed around "a garden blooming with purple flowers and a plum blossom forest," inspired by the park's name, Boramae.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak District, is greeting residents at the "Good Day for Walking" event held last October at Boramae Park in Dongjak District. Provided by Dongjak District.
During the morning event, a "Citizen Garden Making" activity will take place. A total of 880 people who registered online in advance will plant approximately 1,900 trees and 6,200 ground cover and herbaceous plants, assisted by 100 citizen gardeners trained by the city. The "My Tree Ownership Project," which involves planting 85 trees donated by the Indian Embassy, will also be conducted.
In the "Flower Pot Distribution" event operated by Dongjak-gu, under the slogan "Give me spring flowers~ Bring recyclables!", 1,400 residents who bring recyclables will receive flower pots. Each person will be given one free pot containing either a daffodil or a muscari, with 700 of each available.
Additionally, the festival offers the "My Tree Ownership Campaign," where participants receive one companion tree per person for free, and the "5樂 Room" program, which consists of five themes: listening, making, drawing, playing, and healing.
Mayor Park Il-ha said, "This festival allows people to be intoxicated by the scent of plum blossoms, the harbingers of spring, and to experience the aesthetics of gardens within the city." He added, "I hope many residents participate in this meaningful event where they can both protect and enjoy the beauty of nature."
