Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Expands Tourism Products Including 'K-Beauty, Sports, and Festivals'

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is making every effort to expand the attraction of foreign tourists by launching tourism products that allow visitors to experience K-Food, K-Sports, historical and cultural heritage, and local festivals?everyday themes within the province?following the nation’s first ‘Free Safety Insurance Benefit for Foreign Travelers.’


On the 24th, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it has commercialized easily accessible and experiential everyday themes such as professional baseball, chicken, flowers, and festivals into tourism products, which have been on sale since this month through the global travel platform ‘KLOOK.’


First, the K-Food experience product, ‘Make Your Own Korean-style Chicken’ program, allows foreign tourists to personally create their own unique chicken at the Osan Kyochon Chicken experience center. After the experience, visitors can enjoy a different kind of fun and make memories by visiting nearby attractions such as Everland and the Korean Folk Village.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, in collaboration with Suwon City, also launched a Suwon KT Wiz baseball game viewing product tailored to foreign demand from countries such as Taiwan, who want to experience the unique and lively cheering culture of Korean professional baseball (KBO). After watching the game, visitors can enjoy local attractions and gourmet food near the stadium, including Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Haenggung-dong, and Suwon Galbi.


In cooperation with local governments within the province, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization plans to sell products that allow visitors to enjoy regional cultural heritage and festivals such as the Goyang International Flower Fair Tour (April 25?May 11), Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival (September 27?October 4), the reenactment of King Jeongjo’s Royal Procession (September 28), and the Suwon Hwaseong Media Art Festival (September 27?October 12).


A representative of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "One of the recent overseas travel trends is a growing tendency to experience the daily life and places that locals routinely enjoy. Korean-style chicken made by oneself, unique cheering at baseball games, and places and local festivals where tradition and modernity blend will offer special attractions to foreign visitors."
