RaonSecure is expanding the creation of an advanced university education environment using its blockchain-based digital credential platform, ‘OmniOne Badge’.
IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (CEO Soonhyung Lee, Jeonga Lee) announced on the 24th that it has implemented a digital badge issuance system based on ‘OmniOne Badge’ at Konkuk University (President Jongpil Won) and opened a dedicated digital badge website.
RaonSecure opened the first dedicated digital badge website in Korea at Konkuk University, enabling students and faculty to conveniently issue and manage digital badges through the university’s dedicated digital badge website.
Konkuk University issued admission certificates as ‘OmniOne Badges’ to approximately 3,400 new students for the 2025 academic year. The university applies digital badges to non-curricular excellence program completion certificates, the Vision Quest interdisciplinary major specialization program completion certificates, Dean’s List scholarship certificates, modular courses in convergent new technologies, MD majors, self-designed majors, as well as certificates for student council and club activities, allowing students to prove their academic and various activity achievements. The scope of application will continue to expand.
Unlike other universities, Konkuk University plans to issue differentiated badges based on detailed individual academic information such as grades and credits, supporting resume management and employment activities. Additionally, the university will issue excellence badges to students who have completed specific educational courses with distinction and provide a community space on the website for students to share these badges, thereby encouraging learning motivation.
Starting with the issuance of digital badges at Konkuk University through the ‘OmniOne Badge’ service, RaonSecure plans to expand its business to include student identity verification ID issuance services using its blockchain-based integrated identity and credential platform, ‘OmniOne Digital ID’. The student identity verification IDs issued to students can also be used as a means to verify professional competencies on external employment platforms and recruitment agencies, supporting the social advancement of Konkuk University talents.
RaonSecure’s ‘OmniOne Badge’ provides highly reliable and secure credential authentication using blockchain technology that is difficult to forge or tamper with. Offered as Software as a Service (SaaS), it allows digital badge issuance without building an internal system. It can be applied for various purposes such as educational qualification verification, awards, licenses, and guarantees, making it useful for credential issuance in universities, public institutions, companies, and other organizations. It is used for issuing university admission certificates, degree certificates, private AI certifications, e-portfolios, and various institutional and corporate credentials, steadily increasing its market share.
Jongmoon Park, Head of Service Business Division at RaonSecure, said, "As RaonSecure is recognized not only for issuing digital badges based on ‘OmniOne Badge’ but also for identity verification and credential services linked with ‘OmniOne Digital ID’, inquiries and business adoption discussions from many educational institutions are increasing, and we expect significant business growth."
Professor Hyunsook Lee, Dean of Academic Affairs at Konkuk University, said, “Konkuk University will strive to continuously promote innovative projects along with leading development and operation in the digital badge field in the global digital certification era.”
