Royal Salute 55-Year Time Series, Two Bottles Released Domestically

Limited to 85 Bottles Worldwide
Inspired by the Temporal Flow of Nature: The "Four Seasons"

Pernod Ricard Korea announced on the 24th that it will launch a new edition of the top-tier lineup of the whiskey brand Royal Salute, the 'Time Series'?the 'Royal Salute 55 Years.' The 'Royal Salute 55 Years Time Series' will be released worldwide in a limited quantity of 85 bottles, with only 2 bottles available for sale in Korea.

The Time Series is a collection that embodies the essence of the brand based on Royal Salute's unique maturation technology and blending expertise. It was first introduced in Korea in 2020 through the 'Royal Salute 52 Years Single Cask Finish Edition.' This edition maintains the existing theme emphasizing 'time' while drawing inspiration from the temporal flow of the 'four seasons' to express the natural order that influences the whiskey-making process?from ingredient harvesting to distillation conditions and maturation period.

The 'Royal Salute 55 Years Time Series' was completed with rare spirits meticulously managed over decades by five master blenders. As whiskey ages longer, it undergoes complex interactions within the oak cask, developing deep and diverse flavors. The process of maintaining and selecting the whiskey at its best condition requires the exceptional expertise and capabilities of master blenders. Pernod Ricard explained, "Royal Salute 55 Years is the brand’s finest work, embodying the expertise and know-how of five master blenders."

As expected from a well-aged whiskey, this edition boasts a complex yet balanced flavor profile with various aromas. The sweetness of fruits such as pear, melon, and red apple is complemented by the spiciness of cloves and nutmeg. Additionally, it adopts the cask strength method, bottling the whiskey without dilution to allow the full flavor experience. The alcohol content is 50.1%.

The packaging was inspired by the Cairngorms National Park, the only native forest in the UK. Inside the wooden package, a geometric pattern representing the plants symbolizing Scotland’s four seasons was applied. The crystal flacon was handcrafted by Dartington, a renowned British crystal maker, and each flacon is engraved with a unique serial number to enhance its rarity.

Miguel Pascal, Executive Director of Marketing at Pernod Ricard Korea, stated, "The Royal Salute 55 Years Time Series is not just a high-aged whiskey but a work of art created by time and nature." He added, "The rare spirits aged for 55 years and the sophisticated packaging embodying the flow of the four seasons fully capture Royal Salute’s artistic sensibility and craftsmanship."
