Guro District announced that it will start operating the health promotion program "Guro Ai Ttwium" for preschool children.
"Guro Ai Ttwium" means children who joyfully run and move actively, and it is a project aimed at supporting healthy growth and development of children and increasing physical activity.
The district selected 30 daycare centers and will conduct physical fitness assessments and step-by-step physical activity programs for children aged 3 to 5 (born 2019?2021).
From April to December, fitness assessors will visit daycare centers to conduct seven types of physical fitness tests: △body measurements (height, weight) △muscular endurance (V-hold) △flexibility (sit and reach) △balance (one-leg stand) △explosive power (standing long jump) △agility (shuttle run).
In addition, a customized physical activity education program will be provided using early childhood physical education equipment to help children enjoy exercising on their own.
Furthermore, capacity-building training will be conducted for Guro District officials, childcare teachers, and other related personnel to professionally enhance children's physical fitness and promote healthy physical development.

A Guro District official said, "We hope that through the Guro Ai Ttwium program, children will develop regular lifestyle habits and grow up healthily," adding, "We will continue to do our best to prepare various programs for the healthy growth of children."
