Derailment Occurs at Sindorim Station on Line 2 Around 7:50 AM, March 23
Train Operations Suspended on Line 2 Outer Loop Between Hongdaeipgu and Seoul National University Stations... Inner Loop Trains Running Normally
Seoul Metro announced that at around 7:50 AM on the 23rd, a derailment accident occurred at Sindorim Station on Line 2 when a departing train collided with a buffer stop while stopping on the platform.
Currently, relevant personnel have been dispatched and are taking measures.
A buffer stop collision refers to an accident where a train passes its designated stopping position and hits the buffer stop (barrier) installed at the end of the platform or track.
There were no casualties, but due to the accident, train operations on the outer loop of Line 2 between Hongdaeipgu Station and Seoul National University Station are currently suspended. Inner loop trains on Line 2 are operating normally.
The company immediately formed an emergency accident response headquarters and began handling the situation. A company official stated, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to subway users and will do our best to take swift action to prevent any disruption to operations.”
