Samsung Electro-Mechanics Launches In-House 'Quality University' with Over 1,500 Employees Participating

Samsung Electro-Mechanics operates an in-house 'Quality University' to train quality experts for all employees.


On the 23rd, Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced that on the 24th, it will open classes at Quality University with a systematic curriculum and practical courses to help employees grow into quality experts.


At Quality University, current professors, company executives, and employees holding quality engineer certifications will conduct lectures directly.


The courses are organized into a total of 20 subjects, ranging from Level 1, which covers basic concepts, to Level 4, which focuses on practical applications. The main categories include data analysis, quality systems, and job utilization.

In particular, the quality system category includes subjects related to electric components (electronic and electrical equipment for vehicles), which are gradually increasing in importance.


Employees can acquire statistical knowledge by completing basic courses necessary for statistical data analysis through Quality University.


Additionally, through practical exercises using real field cases, they will develop practical skills in various areas such as product development, process improvement, and customer complaint resolution.


Samsung Electro-Mechanics Quality University operates customized training programs reflecting the characteristics of products at business sites in Suwon, Sejong, and Busan, Gyeonggi-do. Over 1,500 employees from quality departments as well as research and development, production, and purchasing departments have applied for the training.


Namkyu Park, Group Leader of the Quality Assurance Office at Samsung Electro-Mechanics, stated, "We have organized various training courses ranging from basic statistics to applied statistics, design of experiments, and reliability analysis to strengthen employees' awareness of the importance of quality and practical capabilities."
