KT is promoting the development of Korean-style AI with the goal of commercialization within the first half of the year. Utilizing various Korean language dictionary data including the Korea University Korean Language Dictionary, encyclopedia data such as the Korean Modern Novel Dictionary and the Modern Publications Dictionary, and Minyeon's Korean studies data like the Minjok Munhwa Yeongu series, KT plans to accelerate the development of sophisticated Korean-style AI.

Since last year, KT and Minyeon have been jointly researching what data is appropriate and how to utilize it based on a consensus on the direction of Korean-style AI development.

The two institutions will continue to promote research collaboration projects for the advancement of Korean-style AI. They plan to conduct joint research and share results on improving AI data quality and studying Korean-style AI values to ensure that AI can embody Korea's historical and national perspectives without bias toward specific thoughts or emotions.

The Institute of Korean Studies at Korea University, an affiliated research institute, has been conducting Korean studies research projects including compiling Korean language dictionaries and publishing works related to Korean culture and history. It has also taken a leading role in digital humanities research.
