First In-Person Agreement Ceremony Held with Representatives of Regularly Participating Daycare Centers and Kindergartens on the 13th
From March 24 to November, Gwanak-gu Early Childhood Forest Experience Centers Open in Full Swing... Operated Weekly at Seven Locations in the District
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) successfully held the '2025 Gwanak-gu Early Childhood Forest Experience Center Operation Agreement Ceremony' on the 13th, together with related organizations, to help children cultivate natural ecological emotions in the forest.
On this day, about 70 representatives from local daycare centers and kindergartens that regularly participate in the Gwanak-gu Early Childhood Forest Experience Center attended, agreed on the operating conditions of the center, and pledged their cooperation in its operation.
This agreement ceremony was especially meaningful as it was the first official exchange of the agreement documents, which had previously been conducted only in writing.
Following the exchange of the agreement documents, the district shared various program plans through the Gwanak-gu Early Childhood Forest Experience Center briefing session, introducing forest instructors for each experience center to help children become familiar with nature and foster creative thinking.
The Early Childhood Forest Experience Center is a forest playground exclusively for young children, using the forest as a classroom and conducting diverse experiential lessons mediated by natural materials in the forest. It is a precious space where children can grow healthily in nature and which greatly influences their character and physical development.
Since opening the 'Cheongryongsan Early Childhood Forest Experience Center' in 2012, the district currently operates seven early childhood forest experience centers, the most in Seoul.
Last year alone, the Early Childhood Forest Experience Center programs were held about 1,800 times, attracting approximately 58,000 family participants and gaining great popularity.
This year, to create a 'Healing and Garden City Gwanak,' the district plans to offer various early childhood forest programs such as ▲garden play and ▲garden prescriptions, providing children with valuable hands-on experiences to learn, rest, and enjoy nature.
From March to November this year, various ecological education programs such as ▲forest play, ▲nature observation, and ▲garden and vegetable garden experiences will be conducted under the professional guidance of early childhood forest instructors, allowing children aged 2 to 7 years old to safely enjoy the experiences.
Participating children will visit the Early Childhood Forest Experience Center regularly once a week and engage in activities that promote physical and emotional development throughout the year by being in contact with the forest.
In particular, the district secured 600 million KRW from the Seoul city budget and invested 100 million KRW from the district budget to extensively renovate the aging facilities of the Cheongryongsan, Nakseongdae, and Seonwoo Park Early Childhood Forest Experience Centers this year, reinforcing play facilities to provide children with a more comfortable and safe forest play environment.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "I am pleased that through this agreement ceremony, the Gwanak-gu Early Childhood Forest Experience Center can offer precious encounters with nature to more children," adding, "We will continue to create an environment where children can grow up healthy and happy through ongoing cooperation."
