The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will conduct the 'Oneul Doseogwan Gabom' campaign online and offline from the 22nd of this month to the 18th of next month to promote library use among the entire population. This event is organized by the Ministry in collaboration with the National Library Committee to celebrate Library Day (April 12, 2025) and Library Week (April 12?18).
First, a library visit certification event will be held during the campaign period. Participants who complete all four certification events by April 18 will be entered into a draw to win generous prizes such as e-book readers. Each week, after completing the new visit certification tasks announced on the official websites and blogs of 'Library Day, Library Week,' participants can upload certification photos to their personal social media and confirm their participation through a 'Naver Form.'
On-site events will be held at 80 libraries nationwide selected through the Library Week contest, where participants can engage in library activities (missions). Various events will be held at each library, and participants will receive commemorative gifts for 'Library Day.' More detailed information, including the list of participating libraries and how to join the campaign, can be found on the official websites and blogs of 'Library Day, Library Week.'
Song Yun-seok, Director of Regional Culture Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "We hope that through the 'Oneul Doseogwan Gabom' campaign, libraries will become enjoyable and exciting spaces in everyday life." He added, "The Ministry will continue to make efforts to activate library use and expand its influence."
