The focus of the crackdown includes team mission fraud, organized and malicious cyber fraud, fraud disguised as virtual asset investments, and romance scams. Such cases have been found where victims' personal and financial information is used for other crimes, shifting criminal responsibility onto the victims or causing secondary damage to other victims through different fraudulent methods. The methods of crime are rapidly becoming more malicious.

To respond to these changes in criminal methods, the National Police Agency has selected organized and malicious fraud as a key target for crackdown and plans to deploy specialized investigative personnel such as the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit and Cyber Investigation Unit of the provincial police agencies. Through intensive and thorough investigations, they will strictly punish livelihood-infringing cyber fraud and financial crimes.

The National Police Agency will also strongly crack down on the creation and distribution of various crime tools used in offenses, such as identity theft mobile phones and identity theft bank accounts, while swiftly blocking illegal advertisements and fake websites to prevent additional damage.

The National Police Agency stated, "Fraud crimes are organized and malicious offenses that exploit the difficulties of the public as bait," and added, "We will pursue these crimes to the end, eradicate them at the root, and ensure that all criminal proceeds are recovered."
