Lim Jeongsim, New President, Vows to Advocate for Women's Policies
Governor Kim Youngrok: "We Aim for an Equal and Happy Jeonnam"

The Jeonnam Provincial Council of Women's Organizations held the inauguration ceremony for the 29th and 30th presidents at the Shangria Hotel in Mokpo on the 21st, reaffirming their commitment to advancing the rights and interests of women in Jeonnam.
At the ceremony, over 150 people attended, including Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, Lee Gwangil, Vice Chairperson of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, other provincial council members, and presidents of women's organizations from cities and counties, to congratulate the new 30th president, Lim Jeongsim, on her inauguration.
President Lim is a leading female leader who has spearheaded women's social participation and the advancement of their rights, having served as President of the Jeonnam Federation of the Korean Mothers' Association, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Consumer Policy Committee, and a member of the Jeonnam Eastern Region Provincial Policy Advisory Council, among other roles.
In her inauguration speech, Lim Jeongsim stated, "During my term, I will work with a sense of duty, contemplating various issues together and cooperating to ensure that women's voices are reflected in important policy decisions." She added, "I deeply appreciate the efforts of former presidents who have played a leading role in the Jeonnam Provincial Council of Women's Organizations. I will do my utmost for the further development of the council."
On this day, outgoing President Choi Durae received a plaque of appreciation from the Governor of Jeonnam and a plaque of merit from the Jeonnam Provincial Council of Women's Organizations in recognition of her dedication to revitalizing the council over the past two years.
During the ceremony, participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the rights and interests of women in Jeonnam, awarded scholarships to two youths preparing for independence, and pledged that the council would continue to support the dreams of local youth.
Governor Kim Youngrok said, "Thanks to the strong support from the Jeonnam Provincial Council of Women's Organizations for enhancing women's status and advancing provincial affairs, Jeonnam has continued to develop. We will continue to strive for an equal and happy Jeonnam where women can dream of a greater future."
