The Jeonnam branch of NongHyup held a ceremony at Unnam NongHyup on the 21st, where President Lee Seokchae (Director of NongHyup Bank) and local cooperative presidents delivered the "Rural Hope Scholarship" totaling 198 million KRW to 396 children of farmers in rural areas of Jeonnam.
Sponsored by the NongHyup Foundation, the "Rural Hope Scholarship" aims to foster the next generation of leaders in agriculture and rural communities. It will be awarded to students currently attending elementary, middle, and high schools in rural areas. A total of 396 students have been selected, each receiving 500,000 KRW.
Lee Gwangil, head of the Jeonnam NongHyup branch, stated, "I hope the Rural Hope Scholarship serves as a stepping stone in nurturing future talents who will lead agriculture and rural communities," and added, "Together with the NongHyup Foundation, we will continue to discover and promote various support programs to sustain and develop rural communities and improve the quality of life for farmers."
