Production Presentation Scheduled for April Also Postponed
On the 21st, Disney Plus announced that it will postpone the release schedule of the drama "Knock Off," starring actor Kim Soo-hyun.
On the same day, a Disney Plus representative stated, "After careful consideration, we have decided to put the release plan for Knock Off on hold."
Originally, Knock Off was scheduled to hold a production presentation next month and release Season 1 as early as April. However, the release has become uncertain after Kim Soo-hyun, the lead actor, was embroiled in allegations of having been in a six-year relationship since 2015 with Kim Sae-ron, who was a minor at the time.
Knock Off tells the story of a man whose life was completely overturned by the 1997 foreign exchange crisis and who becomes the king of the global counterfeit market. The production aimed for a total of 18 episodes across Seasons 1 and 2. It attracted attention as Kim Soo-hyun's next project following the drama "Queen of Tears."
As the controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun grew, MBC's "Good Day," in which he appears, decided to cancel the airing of episode 6 scheduled for the 23rd, and advertisers have been announcing their decisions not to renew contracts one after another.
