Goheung County Discusses Export Cooperation with Indonesian Local Government Association

Expectations for Expanding Exports of Agricultural and Fisheries Products

Goheung County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) met with Musi Rawas Regency officials, including Regent Pii Suhartoni, who are members of the Indonesian Local Government Association (APKASI), on the 20th to discuss practical cooperation measures for expanding exports of Goheung's agricultural, fisheries, and specialty products.


Indonesia is a country composed of approximately 17,000 islands and 552 local government entities. The central government is responsible for core functions such as national defense, diplomacy, and finance, while each local government independently manages areas such as regional development, education, health, environment, transportation, culture, employment, and exports.

The Local Government Association (APKASI) is a council of regency governments from across Indonesia and serves as a key institution for coordinating cooperation among local governments. It is expected to play a pivotal role in helping Goheung County establish practical cooperative relationships with Indonesian local governments.


During this meeting, Goheung County requested practical cooperation to expand exports of its agricultural and fisheries products and discussed various measures to strengthen the foundation for mutual cooperation between the two countries.


In particular, Goheung County plans to expand its export channels and further enhance economic cooperation between the two countries through a close cooperation system with Indonesian local governments. Through these efforts, Goheung County is expected to establish a substantial foothold in the Indonesian market and create a significant turning point in boosting exports of its agricultural and fisheries products.
