Charming Gwangju City Tourism Festival to Be Introduced First at Expo

Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 21st that it will participate in the 'Korea Representative Festival Expo' and the 'NaeNara Travel Expo' to widely promote major festivals such as the Gwangju Royal Porcelain Festival, Toechon Tomato Festival, and Namhansanseong Cultural Festival, along with large-scale nationwide events hosted by Gwangju, including the 2025 Korea Forest Culture Expo and the 2026-2027 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition.

The 'Korea Representative Festival Expo,' held from the 21st to the 23rd at BEXCO in Busan, is the largest festival-specialized expo in Korea, attracting about 50,000 visitors annually.


At this event, Gwangju City plans to focus on promoting the Gwangju Royal Porcelain Festival, Toechon Tomato Festival, Namhansanseong Cultural Festival, as well as the upcoming '2025 Korea Forest Culture Expo' and the '2026-2027 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition' scheduled for October, aiming to create a buzz around these events.


Following this, the 'NaeNara Travel Expo,' held from the 27th to the 30th at SETEC in Seoul, is a leading domestic travel expo hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, expected to attract approximately 80,000 visitors.


At this expo, Gwangju City will set up a special event booth offering diverse activities such as porcelain cup making experiences and Gwangju City SNS subscription events, allowing visitors to experience the charm of Gwangju.


Meanwhile, Gwangju City also plans to participate in the 'Korea International Tourism Expo' held in the second half of the year at KINTEX in Ilsan, actively promoting Gwangju’s representative autumn tourist destinations and festivals such as the '2025 Korea Forest Culture Expo' and the 'Namhansanseong Cultural Festival.'


A Gwangju City official stated, “Through participation in major tourism expos, we will widely promote the charm of Gwangju and actively engage in promotional activities to ensure many visitors can enjoy Gwangju.”
