The Administrative Welfare Committee of Bucheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province will hold a forum on the "Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of Bucheon Public Medical Center" at 2 p.m. on the 27th in the Fantastic Cube on the first floor of Bucheon City Hall.
The ordinance was a resident-initiated ordinance requested in April last year and must be approved by the plenary session by the 30th of next month. Accordingly, the Administrative Welfare Committee held a public hearing in December last year and plans to gather additional opinions through this forum.
At the forum, the feasibility of establishing Bucheon Public Medical Center will be discussed based on the operation cases of public medical centers in other local governments.
The forum will be moderated by Gwak Naekyung, Chairperson of the Administrative Welfare Committee, with Kim Beomseok, President of the Bucheon Association of Korean Medicine, serving as the chair. Following keynote presentations by Jo Seungyeon, former Director of Incheon Medical Center, and Kwon Segwang, Policy Vice President of Bucheon Medical Association, discussions will be held by Moon Seokgyun, Vice President of the Korea Medical Association Medical Policy Research Institute, Jo Gyuseok, Standing Representative of the Bucheon Public Hospital Establishment Citizens' Promotion Committee, and Kim Eunok, Director of Bucheon Public Health Center.
The forum is open to anyone without prior registration, and a Q&A session with the discussants will be provided on-site.
Chairperson Gwak said, "Through the forum, we will ensure a reasonable decision on the ordinance by reflecting in-depth discussions by experts and diverse opinions from citizens."
