Running Program for Youth in Guri
Promoting Health and Communication
The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 21st that it will operate the ‘Wangsukcheon Running Crew’ to promote physical vitality and mental health among young people.
This program will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, from April 1 to May 29. Participants will gather under the Wangsukcheon Bridge in Inchang-dong and, under the guidance of a professional pacer instructor, will learn proper running posture and stretching before running 5km along Wangsukcheon.
According to last year’s satisfaction survey, participants responded that the ‘Wangsukcheon Running Crew’ was a great help in starting running exercise, and through this, not only health improvement but also social communication was strengthened.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “I hope the ‘Wangsukcheon Running Crew’ project will be an opportunity for young people to improve their health as well as a joyful place for interaction with peers, and we will continue to support them so that they can lead a healthy life through various hobbies.”
The recruitment is limited to about 40 people on a first-come, first-served basis, and young people aged 19 to 39 who wish to participate can apply through the Guri City integrated reservation portal.
