Samsung Electronics announced on the 21st that it is carrying out water resource conservation activities at its business sites in celebration of 'World Water Day' on March 22.
At 26 domestic and overseas business sites, more than 36,200 employees have engaged in various water resource conservation activities together with local governments, NGOs, and local residents.
Samsung Electronics has been conducting various activities involving employees and local communities every year, such as cleaning rivers around business sites and reducing water usage at business sites. Especially this year, in connection with the 'Water Resource Return Project,' one of its environmental management strategies, it is also improving reservoirs and pumping facilities in drought-affected areas near business sites and supplying drinking water to villages.
Furthermore, to conserve water resources, each business division is strengthening efforts in water reuse and return, business site management systems, and cooperation with stakeholders. Samsung Electronics stated, "We will continue to raise employees' awareness of water resources and emphasize the importance of sustainable water resource management, and actively participate in water resource conservation through cooperation with various stakeholders."
