HD Hyundai, Commemorating the 24th Anniversary of Late Founder Chung Ju-yung... "We Will Emulate the Founder's Spirit to Build the Best Company"

HD Hyundai held an event to honor and commemorate the late founder Chung Ju-yung.

On the 21st, HD Hyundai announced that it held a 24th anniversary memorial event for the late founder Chung Ju-yung at the Cheongun Hall on the 5th floor of the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center located in Bundang Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, with key executives including Chairman Kwon Oh-gap and Senior Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun in attendance.

The event proceeded with a memorial speech, flower offering, and a moment of silence. In his memorial speech, Chairman Kwon said, “Cheongun Hall, where the founder’s bust is enshrined, is a place where the founder’s spirit lives and breathes,” and pledged, “We will emulate the founder’s spirit and make HD Hyundai the best company that the nation and its people can be proud of.”

Senior Vice Chairman Chung also recalled anecdotes of his grandfather, founder Chung Ju-yung, saying, “The courage, wisdom, and strong execution demonstrated by the founder will be an important driving force in creating the future that HD Hyundai dreams of.”

The attendees paid tribute and reflected on the founder’s legacy by offering flowers and observing a moment of silence in front of the founder’s bust. Additionally, HD Hyundai created a separate memorial space for employees and visitors to freely offer flowers and pay their respects throughout the day.

On the same day, memorial events were also held in Ulsan and Yeongam, Jeollanam-do. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries held a memorial ceremony in front of the founder’s bust at the Ulsan headquarters and broadcast a memorial video through the company’s internal broadcasting system. HD Hyundai Samho held a time to honor the founder’s spirit in front of the founder’s bust on the first floor of the Yeongam headquarters.

Meanwhile, key executives of HD Hyundai visited the founder Chung Ju-yung’s ancestral grave located in Changwoo-dong, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi Province, on the 15th.
