[NE Coffee Chat] Netstream Targets Education and Gaming Markets with AI Agent

New Business Expansion Based on AI Agents
Legal Mandatory Education Matching Platform "IDU"
Simultaneous Development of Idle RPG Games
"Exploring Ways to Generate Profit Using AI"

How can companies survive in the era of artificial intelligence (AI)? Most companies often lack the capacity to develop their own AI technologies. Netstream focused on ways to utilize AI agents. They are considering ways to connect AI adoption beyond mere implementation to profitable business ventures.

On the 25th, Sang Hyun-tae, CEO of Netstream, said, "We are not developing services biased toward specific fields, but are expanding various businesses that can generate profitability by utilizing AI agents." Founded in 2020, Netstream originally pursued a metaverse platform business. Having worked in the gaming industry for over 15 years, CEO Sang anticipated that virtual reality (VR) would become a form of next-generation gaming. However, the era of the metaverse did not arrive as quickly as expected. As the hype cooled and market interest shifted to AI, CEO Sang devised a new business based on the AI agents used in operating the existing metaverse platform. In 2023, Netstream pivoted and transformed into an AI-centered company.

Currently, Netstream is developing two main services utilizing the AI agent "Jeogiyo." These are the AI corporate education diagnosis and matching platform "IDU" and the large language model (LLM)-based AI agent-equipped mobile idle RPG game "ChatRPG Plus." CEO Sang oversees game development, while Hong Seong-hoon, Director of Business Strategy with a long career in education, leads IDU.

CEO Sang judged that it is important to use AI agents in a way that generates revenue across multiple fields rather than limiting them to specific services. He explained, "The biggest challenge many companies face when adopting generative AI is securing profitability," adding, "Education and gaming are the two fields where we can best utilize the AI agent technology we have built."

IDU is a service that quickly and accurately connects corporate managers who require mandatory legal education with suitable educational institutions. Companies only need to answer simple questions such as industry type and number of employees, and the platform uses LLM AI to analyze laws and diagnose the education the company must receive. At the same time, it provides a one-stop service matching the company with mandatory legal education institutions. CEO Sang said, "Currently, in the mandatory legal education market, it is common for one salesperson to spend a week selling to a single company," adding, "Using IDU can increase convenience for both companies and institutions."

ChatRPG Plus is a mobile idle RPG game that combines dot graphics with text log battle mechanics. A virtual character equipped with an AI agent, "Blue Dragon," appears and communicates with players in real time, providing information. CEO Sang said, "We are designing it to maintain the basic fun of idle RPGs while adding the enjoyment provided by the AI agent."

Netstream aims to generate actual revenue this year by leveraging these two services. They plan to officially launch IDU, which is still in the pilot service stage, and sequentially release two idle RPG games to achieve total sales of 1 billion KRW. CEO Sang emphasized, "We will build diversified revenue models to achieve sustainable growth," and added, "Just as we did not give up after the failure of our first business, we will continue to steadily grow the company."
